Then exit and install Shivering Isles (check that DLCShiveringIsles.esp is selected) and note what the version number is. Sometimes these plugins/DLCs patch an existing game with bug fixes and new game engine features. Then start the game again (check that Knights.esp is selected) and note if the version number changed. Start the game (choose Data Files from the list first to verify that only Oblivion is lsited and checked off) and note the version number listed on the lower left corner of the menu screen. how do i remedy it? should i install the old 1.1 patch and then put the 1.2 patch? what can i do to fix this strange problem?! You said installing 1.2 maybe the problem.
it still says successfully installed and files appear in data folder. Now i un installed the full thing then deleted the folders you said and installed in the right order. I had installed oblivion+isles+1.2 and finished the main quest. Did you have the 1.2 patch installed when you were playing the game to its end? That may be part of the problem. You say you finished the game already before doing any of this. If nothing shows up after a day or two (in game), uninstall and also delete the two oblivion folders that were created (in your games folder and in your programs folder). Go to Chorrol's church and see if the Crusader gauntlets are on the floor there (a small shrine with candles). And I found later that Anvil's church was attacked. When I installed KOTN, there was a day that went by and then I saw "New Topic: The Prophet" or something to that affect.
